Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been won on hard surfaces

A resurgent Medvedev claimed his initial title for over two years with a win over Corentin Moutet in the tournament title decider.

The athlete, a ex- number one, has endured a challenging year, winning just one win at the Grand Slams and experiencing a meltdown at the New York tournament.

His inconsistency on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his serving in especial - resulted in him falling of the elite rankings and eventually parting ways with long-time trainer his previous coach.

Presently training with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, he has gradually advanced in the last few weeks - peaking in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over challenger Moutet.

It is Medvedev's initial championship since the Rome competition and first on a hardcourt since March of the previous year.

The win also indicates the Russian has won twenty-one titles at twenty-one various competitions.

"This marks the first occasion I'm at a tournament with my two daughters together, so to secure a trophy is really nice," stated tennis professional Medvedev.

"This victory is in tribute of my younger daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I got when my older daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."

The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his past six title deciders, featuring in Halle earlier this year.

His defensive play style and regular reactions on the playing surface had prompted some to doubt if his ability to compete at the elite level was finished.

Yet the athlete has altered his approach in recent weeks, making an effort to approach the net and play aggressively, reinforced by an better service.

He fought back from a deficit in the first set against the challenging Moutet, winning four of the last five points to gain the advantage.

Both players swapped service breaks in the following set before Moutet, striving for his maiden tour title, gained dominance to create a decider.

Moutet defended four early-game break points in a competitive final set before the Russian won the break to fifteen to serve for the match.

Suitably, the winner earned the title with a shot at the front of the court, with his opponent incapable to control a shot after over two and a half hours.
